Associate Professor / Professor - Te Piringa Faculty of Law

  • Contribute to a holistic, contextualised, New Zealand-focused law education for Te Piringa Faculty of Law’s students
  • Lead research in highly specialised and innovative fields including cyber, criminal and evidential law
  • Inspire and engage students by providing strong leadership and exceptional teaching practices within a bi-cultural focused context

Te Piringa provides an excellent contemporary legal education with a strong focus on integrating professional skills while studying the law in its economic, political and social context, notably addressing the Treaty of Waitangi obligations as part of its commitment to biculturalism. Its mission is to provide critical research for the public good and liberal legal education.

We are particularly interested in qualified applicants in criminal law, transnational crime and international trade, but applicants in all fields are encouraged to apply.

You should have recent experience in practice and/or academic teaching and will be expected to be highly research active with a proven and current research record. It is essential that you have an LLB/JD and LLM, and a PhD or equivalent is strongly preferable at Associate Professor level and essential for a Professorial appointment. You must also be capable of postgraduate supervision.
